Completely oblivious to whatever goes on in the world of football, I found myself in the midst of a world gone mad in Marrakech last Saturday. Large crowds strolled the streets of the red city in anticipation of a Moroccan victory hours before the match between Morocco and Algeria had even begun. The chanting and singing was deafening and the delirious cheerfulness both bewildering and infectious.
I was so glad to get our car undamaged out of the traffic inferno, actually it was a miracle!
Morocco hosted Algeria and won with 4-0.
